Pragmatic Nun is aimed to tangle a few sensitive issues especially for many Asian societies. The idea of this work has started off since the first time I lost my log (2004). However, I find it hard to position myself.
The following posted photographs are some ground testing experiments… At this point I have no idea where does it lead.

As one of its Community Outreach program, the Canadian International School of Singapore has been supporting the Tabitha house building project (Cambodia) for over 10 years. Every year, students and teachers organised fundraising campaign and send a group of committed high school students travel to Cambodia to undertake various service projects. This year, the fundraising committee came up with some interesting ideas to raise fund and encourage students participation.
The committee set up a scale of rewards, i.e. When the students have raise $ for the…
2nd house - free muffin for breakfast
3rd house - teacher vs student friendly basketball match
4th house - 4 male teachers shave their heads
5th house - both the Principal and Vice Principal camp on the school roof for one night
6th hosue - a female teacher (i.e. me) shave her head
Well, the student has done a fantastic job… They first got a free breakfast muffin, then a basketball match on Tuesday after school. Further, they sent 4 teachers shaving their heads on the open air basketball court. Not too long later, Principal and Vice Principal had camped on the school rooftop. Finally…

My head shave ceremony was held in the school’s outdoor basketball court…

Here we are, the 5 bald teachers…

It sparks the idea for Pragmatic Nun.
